Morgan Stanley Crypto Chief Departs to Launch DeFi-Focused Investment Firm
Andrew Peel, former head of digital asset markets at Morgan Stanley, has left the firm to establish a new venture focused on bridging traditional finance with decentralized finance (DeFi). Peel, who joined Morgan Stanley in 2018 after a tenure at Credit Suisse, departed in March and is now preparing to raise capital for his Switzerland-based initiative.
The new firm will be headquartered in Zug, Switzerland—a hub for crypto innovation—and will combine asset management with technology services. It aims to issue and invest in tokenized DeFi assets, including blockchain-based investment funds, signaling growing institutional interest in the space.
